Job Title: Building Automation Technician/Programmer
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of DDC control system solutions, ensuring they meet project requirements and industry standards.
- Collaborate with clients, project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to identify project goals, system requirements, and design specifications.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance in the selection of appropriate hardware, software, and communication protocols for DDC control system integration.
- Develop and customize complex software programs and applications to enable seamless integration and interoperability of DDC control systems.
- Conduct thorough system testing, verification, and commissioning to ensure optimal functionality, performance, and compliance with project requirements. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, sharing best practices and promoting professional development.
- Collaborate with electrical contractors, technicians, and other professionals to oversee the installation, configuration, and calibration of DDC control systems. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to system integration, communication, and interoperability.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, and advancements in DDC controls and building automation systems.
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes, regulations, and safety standards throughout the project lifecycle.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Relevant certifications and extensive experience will also be considered.
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience as a DDC Controls Systems Integrator or a similar senior-level role within the building automation industry.
Additional Qualifications
- In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems and DDC control systems, protocols (such as BACnet, Modbus), and building automation technologies.
- Strong programming skills and proficiency in languages commonly used in DDC control systems, such as C/C++, Java, or ladder logic.
- Familiarity with industry-leading software tools for DDC controls programming and system integration (e.g., Niagara, Tridium, Honeywell, Siemens). Demonstrated expertise in troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues related to DDC control systems.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
