Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team. This role is responsible for developing accurate and competitive cost estimates for building automation and control projects. The Estimator will analyze project requirements, prepare proposals, calculate costs for labor, materials, and equipment, and provide detailed estimates that support bidding, budgeting, and project decision-making.
Key Responsibilities

Cost Estimation: Calculate labor, material, equipment, and overhead costs with precision to ensure accurate forecasts.

Quantity Takeoff: Review project specifications and drawings to determine exact material and equipment needs.

Bid Preparation: Develop comprehensive bids and proposals that reflect accurate pricing, scope, and timelines.

Vendor & Subcontractor Coordination: Request, review, and evaluate quotes to ensure compliance with project requirements.

Risk Analysis: Identify and account for potential risks or uncertainties that could affect project costs or schedules.

Value Engineering: Recommend cost-saving alternatives while maintaining project quality and performance.

Reporting: Deliver detailed and transparent estimate reports to account managers, project managers, and stakeholders.

Compliance: Ensure estimates adhere to company processes, regulations, and client requirements.

Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and field teams to support seamless project execution.

Market Knowledge: Stay current with industry trends, pricing, and technologies to enhance competitive positioning.

Qualifications

Minimum 10 years of experience in the Building Automation industry.

Proven expertise in Building Automation, IoT, CCTV, Card Access, Open Protocols, and electrical systems.

Solid understanding of mechanical systems and ability to interpret technical documents (drawings, addenda, RFI’s, ASI’s, etc.).

Proficiency in Bluebeam; familiarity with Microsoft Project and AutoCAD is a plus.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Ability to travel within the assigned territory.

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred (may be substituted with relevant industry experience).
