Job description:
We are seeking a dynamic and technically proficient Business Development Salesperson to drive growth for our process control solutions. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of industrial automation, including Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), and a proven ability to develop strategic client relationships in process-heavy industries. This role involves identifying new market opportunities, cultivating long-term partnerships, and leading the full sales cycle from prospecting to close.
Responsibilities
- Business development: Identify and qualify new business opportunities within target process-related industries, such as life sciences, chemicals, and manufacturing.
- Strategic planning: Develop and execute effective business development and account strategies to achieve sales quotas and growth targets.
- Client relations: Build and nurture robust relationships with key decision-makers and C-level executives at client and prospect organizations.
- Technical expertise: Provide consultative guidance to clients, leveraging your knowledge of process control technologies (e.g., Emerson’s, Rockwell Automation) and system integration.
- Sales process management: Manage all full-cycle sales activities, including customer presentations, solution design, proposal generation, and contract negotiation.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Partner with engineering, marketing, and project management teams to ensure a seamless and effective go-to-market strategy.
- Market intelligence: Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activities, and new technologies to develop a compelling market position.
Required qualifications:
Experience:
- 5–10+ years of sales or business development experience, with a focus on industrial automation, process control systems, or engineered solutions.
- Demonstrated track record of meeting and exceeding sales quotas.
- Expertise in managing complex sales cycles.
Knowledge:
- Strong technical knowledge of process control systems, industrial automation, and systems integration.
- Deep understanding of process-related industries and their specific control challenges.
Skills and competencies:
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management abilities.
- Proficiency with CRM software, such as Salesforce, Bid Tracer.
- Strategic thinking and business acumen to identify long-term growth opportunities.
Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related technical field is preferred.
