Job Title: HVAC/HVAC Controls General Service Manager

Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced General Service Manager to lead our Service and Owner Direct divisions. This key leadership role is responsible for driving profitability, sales, and growth objectives through effective management of service operations, controls, and personnel.

The General Service Manager will implement our strategic business plan, grow recurring revenue streams through maintenance contracts and subscription services, and ensure operational excellence across all service-related activities. This position requires strong business acumen, leadership experience, and a deep understanding of the HVAC and building controls industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee all Service and Owner Direct operations, ensuring alignment with our business objectives.

  • Achieve annual sales and profit goals through project sales, time and material (T&M) work, and renewable maintenance agreements.

  • Develop and execute tactical business plans that capitalize on local HVAC market opportunities.

  • Maintain a strong understanding of building ownership costs to effectively communicate ROI and value to clients.

  • Establish and manage customer retention strategies, ensuring high satisfaction and repeat business.

  • Review, approve, and ensure accuracy of service estimates, proposals, and financial reports.

  • Monitor accounts receivable and ensure prompt payment collection.

  • Prepare and manage the annual operating budget and forecast for the Service and Owner Direct business units.

  • Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing service and sales team.

  • Collaborate with other company leaders to achieve overall corporate goals.

  • Uphold company standards for safety, ethics, and legal compliance.

Work Environment:

  • Primarily office-based with periodic travel to local customer sites and construction projects.

  • Requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, and perform typical office and site-related tasks.

  • Approximately 20% travel may be required for customer visits and site evaluations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of related HVAC service management or operations experience.

  • 10+ years of experience in a supervisory, leadership, or mentoring role.

  • Strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems, building automation, and controls.

  • Proven ability to manage P&L, budgets, and forecasts.

  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and customer relationship management skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).

  • Experience with a service-focused ERP system for managing operations.

  • Bachelor’s degree or advanced education in Business, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

  • Background in HVAC service sales, controls integration, or building automation systems.
