Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced HVAC Estimator to join our Preconstruction team. This role is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for HVAC and mechanical systems in commercial and industrial construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of HVAC systems, construction processes, and cost analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and scope of work to develop detailed HVAC estimates.
- Collaborate with engineering, project management, and sales teams to ensure alignment on project requirements.
- Perform quantity take-offs and cost analysis for HVAC systems, ductwork, piping, and controls.
- Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes.
- Prepare bid proposals and presentations for clients.
- Maintain and update estimating databases and tools.
- Participate in value engineering and cost-saving initiatives.
- Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in HVAC estimating, preferably in commercial or industrial construction.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, mechanical codes, and construction practices.
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Trimble, FastPIPE, QuoteSoft) and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical documents.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
