Position Summary
As an HVAC BIM Detailer, you’ll leverage BIM and CAD tools to create detailed, fabrication-ready 3D models of HVAC systems. You’ll collaborate closely with engineering, fabrication, installation, and project teams to support our full-service approach—from initial design through fabrication and installation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed 3D BIM models of HVAC systems—including ductwork, piping, AHUs, and BAS components—using Revit, AutoCAD MEP, Fabrication MEP, and Navisworks.
- Conduct clash detection and resolve coordination issues with structural, electrical, and plumbing disciplines.
- Assist in generating fabrication-level drawings, layouts, and schedules for ductwork, piping, and custom AHUs.
- Ensure all models and drawings meet project requirements, company standards, and industry specifications.
- Coordinate with designers, contractors, and engineers during pre-construction, design-build phases, and ongoing service support.
- Participate in project meetings, share modeling updates, and support BIM workflows throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain and organize all project BIM files, templates, and documentation in alignment with company protocols.
Qualifications
- Degree or technical diploma in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Systems, or a related discipline.
- Proven hands-on experience in HVAC modeling and detailing using BIM software: Revit MEP, AutoCAD MEP, Fabrication MEP, and Navisworks.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems: ductwork, piping, AHUs, BAS integration, and industrial HVAC standards.
- Experience performing clash detection and resolving multidisciplinary coordination issues.
- Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and documentation abilities.
- Effective communication skills; ability to collaborate across teams.
- Familiarity with fabrication workflows and ability to support shop drawing preparation.
Desired Skills
- Knowledge of building automation systems (BAS), custom air handling unit design, and fabrication processes.
- Practical experience in commercial or industrial HVAC design-build projects.
- Familiarity with Bluebeam or similar review software.
- Mechanical aptitude and understanding of construction documents.
