Position Overview
We are seeking an entry–mid level Building Automation Install Technician to join our Controls Division. This role is ideal for a technician who is strong in installations and hands-on field work, and who is motivated to grow into more advanced troubleshooting, commissioning, and service responsibilities.
In this role, you will focus on installing building automation components, supporting the startup process, assisting senior technicians with troubleshooting, and providing critical field support to our service department. You will work closely with our mechanical and controls teams to help deliver high?performance automation solutions that maximize comfort, efficiency, and reliability for our clients.
Responsibilities
- Install control wiring, controllers, sensors, and building automation hardware.
- Assist with troubleshooting and resolving control system issues under the guidance of senior technicians.
- Support the service department with system diagnostics, repairs, and customer needs.
- Manage assigned tasks to ensure professional execution and a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Assist with commissioning, servicing, and integration of building controls as experience increases.
- Perform additional duties related to building automation technology as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience in electronic, electrical, or controls systems (installation or service).
- Understanding of HVAC fundamentals such as air handlers, terminal units, heat pumps, chillers, or boilers.
- Ability to clearly communicate technical information to both technical and non?technical individuals.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with building automation platforms such as Tridium, Carrier, Metasys, Trane, or similar systems.
- Exposure to integrated building system design, commissioning, or startup.
- Experience in customer-facing technical roles or environments.
