Compensation Range: $95,000 – $120,000

Position Summary
The organization is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior BAS Controls Project Manager to lead complex DDC control system projects in commercial buildings.
In this role, you will:

  • Own full project lifecycle execution
  • Serve as the primary client interface
  • Lead cross-functional technical teams
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality building automation solutions on time and within budget

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end execution of DDC control system projects, including project initiation, planning, executionand closeout
  • Ensure projects meet defined scope, schedule milestones, budget constraints and quality standards
  • Collaborate with clients, internal stakeholders and project teams to define requirements, objectives, and deliverables
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project plan, detailed schedules and resource allocation plans
  • Oversee cross-functional teams, including controls engineers, field technicians, subcontractors and vendors
  • Manage project financials by developing budget, tracking expenses and maintaining cost controls throughout the lifecycle
  • Monitor project progress by identifying critical path activities, proactively managing risks and issues and implementing corrective actions as needed
  • Act as the primary client contact by providing regular status updates, addressing questions and concerns and managing expectations
  • Lead project meetings, including kickoff meetings, progress reviews, and closeout sessions with clear documentation and follow-up
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor construction progress, verify compliance with specifications and provide technical guidance
  • Manage change orders by assessing impacts to scope, schedule, and budget and securing required approvals
  • Maintain complete project documentation, including: drawings and specification, submittals, change orders and closeout documentation
  • Support pre-sales efforts by providing technical expertise, assisting with project scoping and developing cost estimates
  • Lead post project lessons learned sessions to identify improvement opportunities and implement process enhancements
  • Mentor and support junior project management staff
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, internal policies and industry standards

 

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management experience in DDC control systems or commercial building environments
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent relevant experience
  • Valid driver’s license with ability to travel to multiple job sites as required

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong technical background in controls engineering, building automation systems and DDC controls and protocols
  • Proven success managing large-scale complex DDC control system projects
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teamsand motivate technical professionals
  • Advanced project management capabilities, including budgeting, scheduling and resource planning
  • Strong client-facing skills with a focus on relationship building and customer satisfaction
  • Proficiency with project management software, scheduling and cost-control tools, and document management systems
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, decision-making abilities, risk-management experience
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
  • Project management certifications (e.g., PMP)
