Job Purpose
Provide effective service, troubleshooting, and repair of customer building automation systems while maintaining high standards of quality, responsiveness, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to service requests by diagnosing and repairing building automation system issues through system analysis, component testing, and corrective action
- Provide on-call, emergency, and remote technical support as required
- Perform inspections and preventive maintenance, including point-to-point checkout, sensor calibration, and database backups
- Identify required equipment and parts to ensure optimal control system performance and proactively resolve potential issues
- Provide technical guidance to diagnose system concerns and maintain occupant comfort
- Verify and program correct setpoints, schedules, and sequences of operation
- Perform installations, startups, and commissioning activities as needed
- Complete service documentation accurately and on time
- Obtain customer signatures on all service work orders
- Communicate customer feedback, changes, or concerns to service leadership
- Identify and pass along qualified sales leads to the sales team
Required Technical Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in building controls and automation
- Demonstrated experience troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing building management systems
- Working knowledge of BACnet control systems
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems and control strategies
- Exposure to controls programming and system configuration
- Valid driver’s license issued by state of residence and in good standing
Preferred Technical Skills and Experience
- More than 2 years of experience supporting complex or enterprise-scale BAS environments
- Experience with multi-vendor or high-end building control platforms
- Startup and commissioning experience for new construction or retrofit projects

Support emergency service calls, scheduled off-hours shutdowns, and customer training initiatives to ensure system reliability and customer confidence.
Installation
Participate in large projects and complex retrofit environments requiring coordination, technical precision, and adherence to aggressive schedules.
Integration
Work with third-party devices, scheduling software, custom drivers, APIs, and data-sharing platforms to expand system capabilities.
Design Support
Collaborate with engineering teams to evaluate systems, equipment, and installation methods to ensure high-quality project delivery.
Analytics and Energy Management
Support building analytics initiatives including dashboards, KPIs, virtual metering, and actionable reporting for improved energy performance.
Custom Solutions
Contribute to optimization strategies, custom graphics, and integrated room control solutions tailored to client operational needs.
