Job Summary
The Account/Project Manager is responsible for driving sales and managing the full lifecycle of mechanical service work, including HVAC and plumbing services, for commercial and industrial customers. This role combines consultative selling, relationship management, and coordinated project oversight to ensure services are properly scoped, executed efficiently, and aligned with customer objectives.

The Account/Project Manager maintains ownership of an assigned account portfolio by leveraging inspection findings, collaborating closely with field leadership, and maintaining accurate CRM records. This position serves as the primary customer point of contact and is accountable for portfolio growth, operational alignment, service agreement renewals, and delivering a consistent, high-quality customer experience.

Duties & Essential Job Functions
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with assigned customers and prospective clients
  • Develop partnering relationships with owners, property managers, and decision-makers responsible for mechanical and plumbing systems
  • Create and execute business plans for defined targets, including contact strategies and short- and long-term sales goals
  • Identify customer objectives, operational requirements, and pain points
  • Position renewable service agreements as a cost-effective, long-term partnership when appropriate
  • Prepare competitive, accurate, and timely estimates and proposals
  • Assist in the development and presentation of marketing materials
  • Engage internal technical resources as needed to support solution development
  • Maintain close coordination with service operations and field leadership
  • Track service agreement renewal dates and ensure proactive customer communication
  • Act as the customer advocate when service or execution issues arise
  • Monitor sales activity, pipeline health, and forecast accuracy
  • Provide regular account status updates to leadership
  • Support the collections process as needed
  • Attend and present at relevant trade shows and industry events
  • Promote the organization’s full range of mechanical service offerings
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in mechanical service, construction, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of business education, technical training, and practical experience
  • Ability to meet jobsite access and safety requirements
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM platforms such as Salesforce
  • Ability to travel locally and occasionally out of town

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience selling HVAC and/or plumbing services to commercial or industrial customers
  • Experience managing service agreement portfolios and renewals
  • Strong understanding of mechanical service operations and estimating processes

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

  • Travel requirement: Less than 10%
  • Moderate exposure to environmental conditions such as heat, cold, dirt, dust, and noise
  • Occasional exposure to construction, mechanical, and electrical hazards with required safety precautions
  • Moderate physical effort, including lifting objects up to 50 pounds and extensive standing or walking
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders, scaffolding, and navigate active construction environments

Performance Expectations & Individual Goals

  • Minimum annual sales target of $2,000,000
  • Minimum of $100,000 in new maintenance contract sales per year, or market-adjusted goals
