Due to continued expansion, we are seeking a highly experienced Building Automation Operations Manager to lead and scale our Nashville operations.
Position Summary
The BAS Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of building automation system operations in the Nashville region. This role combines technical leadership, project execution, team development, and customer relationship management. The ideal candidate has deep hands-on BAS experience, strong operational discipline, and the ability to lead high-performing teams delivering complex BACnet and DDC projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day BAS operations, including project delivery, service execution, and customer support
- Manage multiple concurrent BAS projects from kickoff through commissioning and closeout
- Oversee system integration for HVAC, lighting, power monitoring, and access control systems
- Ensure quality standards, safety compliance, and schedule adherence across all projects
- Supervise, mentor, and develop project managers, engineers, technicians, and subcontractors
- Serve as the senior technical and operational escalation point for complex BAS issues
- Collaborate with sales and estimating teams to support bids, scopes, and system designs
- Drive adoption and optimization of WebView by Reliable Controls and other enterprise tools
- Monitor operational KPIs including margins, labor utilization, change orders, and customer satisfaction
- Build and maintain strong client relationships with owners, facilities teams, and general contractors
Required Qualifications
- Eexperience in Building Automation Systems or DDC controls
- Experience in a leadership or operations management role
- Strong working knowledge of BACnet-based systems and open-protocol architectures
- Proven experience managing BAS projects in commercial, healthcare, education, or government facilities
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents, control drawings, and specifications
- Strong financial and operational acumen, including project cost control and forecasting
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally within the Nashville region
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Reliable Controls and WebView platforms
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- Experience building or scaling a regional BAS operations team
- Exposure to energy analytics, central plant optimization, and enterprise energy reporting
- Familiarity with commissioning processes and LEED or energy efficiency initiatives
