Position Summary
The HVAC Estimator / Project Manager is responsible for both pre-construction estimating and full lifecycle project management of commercial HVAC projects. This role combines technical expertise, financial oversight, and client relationship management to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and at high performance standards. The position is ideal for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment managing multiple projects while driving cost efficiencies and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
• Prepare detailed estimates for commercial HVAC projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors
• Review construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents to develop accurate and competitive proposals
• Manage 5–15 concurrent HVAC projects valued between $50,000 and $5M
• Oversee projects from award through closeout, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget
• Coordinate with field teams, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure smooth project execution
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders
• Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving strategies
• Track job costs, forecast financial outcomes, and manage project profitability
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, local codes, and industry regulations
• Assist with client development and maintaining long-term relationships
• Support procurement, contract negotiations, and project documentation

Required Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience in commercial HVAC estimating and/or project management
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, mechanical construction, and controls
• Proven experience managing projects from bid through completion
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications
• Proficiency with estimating and project management software (e.g., Bluebeam, Trimble, or similar tools)
• Strong financial management and cost-control skills
• Excellent communication and client-facing abilities
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites within the Philadelphia region

Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
• Experience with energy-efficient HVAC systems and optimization strategies
• Familiarity with utility incentive and rebate programs
• PMP certification or equivalent project management credential
• Experience working on large-scale commercial or industrial HVAC projects
• Exposure to building automation systems (BAS) or controls integration
