Job Title: Building Automation Project Manager
Location: Greater Cleveland, OH Area

Salary Range: $85,000 – $120,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Building Automation Project Manager to oversee and execute building automation system (BAS) projects from award through completion. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who has risen through the field and is ready to take ownership of projects, including execution, client coordination, and financial oversight. You will play a critical role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, while maintaining strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple building automation projects ranging from $50,000 to $3M in value simultaneously
  • Oversee project lifecycle including planning, scheduling, execution, and closeout
  • Handle project financials including budgeting, cost tracking, and profitability
  • Order materials, manage purchase orders (POs), and coordinate with suppliers
  • Lead project execution with a strong field presence, ensuring work is completed efficiently and accurately
  • Coordinate system integration and commissioning efforts for BAS systems
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and internal teams
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, timelines, and safety standards
  • Collaborate with technicians and engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues
  • Maintain detailed project documentation and reporting

 

Required Qualifications

  • 5–10 years of experience in building automation systems (BAS) or controls
  • Proven experience managing or leading projects in the field or transitioning into project management
  • Strong understanding of BAS systems, controls integration, and commissioning processes
  • Ability to independently manage projects, including materials, scheduling, and execution
  • Experience with project financial tracking and cost control
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work both in the field and office environments

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Niagara (Tridium) platform
  • Prior experience with major BAS providers (e.g., Siemens, Johnson Controls, or similar)
  • Background as a Lead Technician, Controls Technician, or Systems Specialist transitioning into PM responsibilities
  • Experience mentoring or leading small teams
  • Exposure to estimating, quoting, or client-facing project discussions
