Position Overview
The HVAC Estimator is responsible for reviewing plans and specifications, preparing accurate project estimates, and supporting sales and internal teams with technical product and application information. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Review plans, specifications, and project requirements to prepare accurate quotes and estimates.
- Analyze construction processes, schedules, and technical documents to support project compliance.
- Assist sales teams with equipment selections and value engineering recommendations.
- Enter customer, project, and product information into company systems with a high level of accuracy.
- Provide pricing and product information to internal stakeholders and customers.
- Communicate regularly with internal team members and vendors.
- Utilize computer-based pricing, selection, and estimating tools to prepare bids and proposals.
- Perform administrative and project-related tasks, including order processing and documentation management.
- Maintain a professional and customer-focused approach while balancing multiple deadlines.
- Support the estimating and sales process through effective coordination and organization.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 1 year of related training, education, or relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong math, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional technical, mechanical, industrial, or vocational training beyond high school.
- Experience with commercial HVAC equipment, mechanical systems, or related industrial products.
- Understanding of estimating processes within construction, manufacturing, or mechanical industries.
- Experience using estimating, pricing, or product selection software.
