Position Summary
We are seeking an entrepreneurial and technically strong BAS Division Manager to lead and grow our Building Automation Systems (BAS) business throughout the Greater Houston market. This role is responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and expansion of our controls operation, which currently consists of three BAS Technicians/Programmers primarily supporting our service operations and service projects teams.
This position requires a unique blend of operational leadership, advanced controls expertise, and business development capability. The successful candidate will not only manage and develop the existing technical team but will also identify opportunities to grow recurring service revenue, expand project opportunities, strengthen customer relationships, and increase market share across our Building Automation Systems portfolio.
Our controls portfolio includes Honeywell, Carrier i-Vu, and Distech building automation solutions, serving a diverse customer base across commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, and institutional facilities.

Position Objectives
- Provide leadership and technical direction for the existing BAS team.
- Expand the controls business through service agreement growth, retrofit projects, upgrades, and new customer acquisition.

Required Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of three BAS Technicians/Programmers.
- Oversee day-to-day BAS service operations, project execution, and customer support activities.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, technical guidance, and professional development for team members.
- Develop and implement a strategic growth plan for the BAS division.
- Identify, qualify, and pursue new controls service, retrofit, upgrade, and automation opportunities.
- Build and maintain relationships with facility managers, building owners, consulting engineers, general contractors, and end users.
- Partner with HVAC service and project teams to identify controls opportunities within existing customer accounts.
- Develop and present customer solutions utilizing Honeywell, Carrier i-Vu, and Distech platforms.
- Assist with estimating, proposal development, and contract negotiations.
- Manage department financial performance, budgeting, labor utilization, and profitability.
- Ensure high-quality system programming, commissioning, troubleshooting, and customer support.
- Manage customer escalations and provide technical leadership on complex projects.
- Promote a culture focused on safety, accountability, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.
- Participate in strategic planning with executive leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years of Building Automation Systems experience.
- Minimum 3 years of leadership, supervisory, or management experience within the BAS or HVAC controls industry.
- Demonstrated experience with Honeywell, Carrier i-Vu, and/or Distech control systems.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC controls, DDC systems, networking, integration, and building automation technologies.
- Proven ability to develop customer relationships and generate new business opportunities.
- Experience with service contracts, retrofit projects, controls upgrades, and system optimization.
- Financial and operational management experience.
- Strong communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout the Houston market.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field.
- Niagara N4 certification.
- Experience supervising controls technicians, programmers, and field engineers.
- Experience with energy management, analytics, fault detection, and smart building technologies.
- Experience managing departmental profit and loss performance.
- Existing relationships within the Houston commercial HVAC and controls market.
- MBA or advanced business management training.
