About the Role
The Building Automation Account Manager is responsible for driving growth within a defined territory by developing strong customer relationships, identifying opportunities, and delivering high-value building automation solutions. This role blends strategic business development with hands-on customer management, requiring both technical acumen and strong communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full sales cycle, including prospecting, relationship development, proposal creation, and contract closing.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with building owners, contractors, engineers, and key stakeholders.
- Conduct site visits, customer meetings, and project walk-throughs to identify BAS, HVAC controls, and systems integration needs.
- Collaborate closely with operations, engineering, and project management teams to ensure successful execution of sold work.
- Maintain a robust pipeline and accurate forecasting using CRM tools.
- Meet or exceed annual revenue and margin targets.
- Represent the company at industry events, networking functions, and client presentations.
- Provide customers with expert guidance on building automation systems, integration capabilities, and energy-saving strategies.
Preferred Responsibilities
- Contribute insights to branch leadership regarding market trends, competitive intelligence, and strategic opportunities.
- Support post project follow-ups to ensure customer satisfaction and promote renewals or expansions.
- Participate in internal discussions about branch growth planning, including staffing and operational improvements.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in BAS, HVAC controls, mechanical contracting, or a related technical building systems field.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in sales, account management, or business development in a technical environment.
- Strong understanding of building systems, automation platforms, and controls integration.
- Demonstrated ability to build long-term customer relationships and close complex deals.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the assigned territory.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience selling in the Florida West Coast market (Sarasota, Tampa, Fort Myers).
- Prior involvement in cradle-to-grave sales cycles with mechanical or BAS contractors.
- Familiarity with commissioning, programming, or operations of BAS platforms.
- Ability to contribute to branch level leadership or future management-track opportunities.
