Position Overview
The Building Automation & Energy Services Account Executive plays a critical role in expanding the company’s energy services portfolio—focusing on service agreements and technology upgrades that improve building performance, energy efficiency, and sustainability outcomes. This role identifies opportunities for DDC system modernization, HVAC equipment replacements, energy retrofit services, and long?term service partnerships.
The ideal candidate combines technical understanding of building automation with a passion for energy efficiency, customer engagement, and revenue growth.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a strategic sales plan targeting customers seeking energy efficiency improvements, DDC upgrades, and long-term service support
- Build and maintain relationships with existing clients while proactively identifying new opportunities within the region
- Conduct assessments of customer facilities to uncover opportunities for:
- DDC system retrofits
- Energy-saving control strategies
- HVAC equipment replacements
- Optimization and commissioning services
- Prepare proposals and service agreements detailing scope, estimated energy impacts, timelines, and project costs
- Collaborate with engineering and technical teams to ensure accurate system design and alignment with energy-saving objectives
- Work with project teams to transition clients from installation into long-term service and energy monitoring agreements
- Stay informed about energy market trends, utility incentives, sustainability requirements, and emerging technologies
- Present DDC and energy service solutions in a compelling, customer-centric manner
- Negotiate proposals, service agreements, and contract terms
- Maintain accurate CRM documentation of leads, opportunities, customer interactions, and project status
- Achieve or exceed assigned sales quotas and revenue targets
- Perform additional duties as required
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Energy Management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 3 years of sales experience in building automation, energy services, or HVAC modernization
- Strong knowledge of DDC systems, building automation architecture, and control strategies
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to customers without technical backgrounds
- Proven record of achieving sales targets within the building technology, energy services, or mechanical systems market
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage multiple client relationships
- Self-motivated with strong organizational and time-management skills
- Willingness to travel for client meetings, site assessments, and industry events
Preferred Qualifications
- Industry certifications related to building automation, energy management, or HVAC systems
- Familiarity with energy efficiency principles such as retro-commissioning, demand reduction, and decarbonization strategies
- Understanding of utility incentive programs, energy benchmarking standards, and sustainability reporting frameworks
- Financial skills to estimate, present, and sell energy-related technical solutions
- Experience developing proposals for DDC retrofits, energy retrofits, or infrastructure improvement projects
