Position Overview
A growing mechanical contracting organization is seeking a talented Graphic Designer to support its Design-Build department in Tampa, Florida. This position is ideal for a creative professional who enjoys turning complex technical information into clear, engaging, and polished visual communications.

The Graphic Designer will partner with engineers, project managers, sales professionals, technicians, and clients to develop graphics, reports, dashboards, presentations, training materials, and other visual assets. The successful candidate will combine strong design fundamentals with curiosity, precision, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced technical environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce high-quality graphics, reports, dashboards, training documents, presentations, and visual assets that support proposals, technical documentation, and engineering initiatives.
  • Translate complex HVAC, building-automation, and engineering concepts into visuals that are clear, accessible, and easy to understand.
  • Create compelling visual stories that help technical and nontechnical audiences understand systems, processes, project plans, and performance data.
  • Refresh, organize, and maintain branded templates to promote consistency, professionalism, and clarity across company locations and departments.
  • Collaborate with clients, engineers, project managers, sales professionals, and field technicians to identify needs and deliver effective design solutions.
  • Assist with the development of customer training materials, system diagrams, process illustrations, and educational visuals.
  • Review all materials for visual consistency, technical accuracy, grammar, formatting, and brand alignment.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects while meeting deadlines and maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Incorporate stakeholder feedback while protecting the clarity, quality, and usability of final designs.
  • Maintain organized design files, templates, graphics, and related creative assets.

Required Qualifications

  • Professional graphic design experience demonstrated through a strong and relevant portfolio.
  • Strong knowledge of layout, typography, visual hierarchy, information design, and visual storytelling.
  • Demonstrated ability to simplify technical or complex information through clean, professional visual communication.
  • Ability to create effective materials for both technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail, including consistency in formatting, spacing, typography, and branding.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Ability to accept feedback and translate stakeholder input into effective design solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous design experience within engineering, construction, mechanical contracting, HVAC, building automation, manufacturing, architecture, or another technical industry.
  • Experience creating technical diagrams, dashboards, training materials, engineering presentations, proposals, or sales-support materials.
  • Familiarity with HVAC systems, building controls, automation concepts, or mechanical-system terminology.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams that include engineers, sales professionals, project managers, clients, and field personnel.
  • Experience maintaining branded templates or supporting brand consistency across multiple locations.
