Job Title: BAS Lead Technician (DDC Controls)

Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled BAS Lead Technician to lead installation, startup, and service of DDC-based building automation systems across the Raleigh metro area. This is a field-based leadership role responsible for delivering high-quality installations, ensuring system performance, and mentoring junior technicians.
This position is ideal for a hands-on professional with strong troubleshooting expertise who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead installation of DDC controllers and associated field devices on commercial projects
- Perform point-to-point checkout, system startup, and commissioning activities
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair BAS/DDC system issues
- Interpret control drawings, wiring diagrams, and submittals to ensure proper system installation
- Oversee termination, panel wiring, and system integration
- Execute service calls and preventative maintenance tasks
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior technicians
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and customers to deliver successful outcomes
Qualifications
Required:
- 5–10 years of BAS/DDC experience in installation and service roles
- Minimum 3 years hands-on experience with:
- Installing DDC controllers and field devices
- Performing point-to-point checkout and startup
- Troubleshooting and repairing DDC systems
- Strong knowledge of BAS wiring, terminations, and control system architecture
- Tridium (Niagara) platform experience
- Ability to work independently in a field-based role
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally
Preferred:
- Tridium/Niagara certification
- Distech Controls experience
- Conduit installation experience
- Previous experience leading projects or mentoring technicians
- OSHA certification or formal safety training
