Position Summary
As a Project Manager, you will hold profit and loss responsibility for the projects you manage. You will coordinate equipment, materials, and subcontractor requirements while providing oversight to project teams, drafting personnel, and engineering support. This role is responsible for planning and directing work, resolving project obstacles, and maintaining strong customer relationships with a high level of service and satisfaction.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or 2-year degree in construction science, construction management, engineering, architecture, business administration, or a related field
- General knowledge of construction processes, practices, and job sites
- General knowledge of safety regulations, ANSI standards, local and state building codes, environmental codes, and industry-specific codes and guidelines
- Ability to read and understand technical specifications, blueprints, technical manuals, product and material installation instructions, and engineering or architectural drawings
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
Preferred Qualifications
- Three years of construction experience
- OSHA 30-Hour Outreach Training
- Proficiency in Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Suite, and Smartsheet
Responsibilities
- Manage submittals, shop drawings, and RFIs
- Participate in meetings to coordinate work and address labor concerns
- Ensure work is completed in accordance with quality standards and contract specifications
- Review project drawings, specifications, and submittals
- Prepare monthly cost-to-complete forecasts for financial statement preparation
- Attend monthly financial review meetings and update management on the financial status of assigned projects
- Coordinate the monthly billing process and maintain an over-billing position
- Negotiate billing approvals with customers
- Collect project accounts receivable
- Coordinate with the Labor Superintendent to resolve labor problems and productivity issues
- Set and maintain expectations for a safe work environment
- Participate in community and industry activities to promote the organization and the industry
