Position Overview
A well-established building automation and controls services provider is seeking a Building Automation Project Manager to lead projects throughout the Greater Columbus market. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality BAS projects while upholding a culture where customer service excellence is the backbone of the business. The ideal candidate brings strong technical understanding, exceptional coordination skills, and the ability to manage projects that involve complex integrations, strict quality standards, and mission-critical facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage building automation projects from design through commissioning and closeout
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring exceptional service before, during, and after installation
  • Coordinate design, installation, integration, and commissioning activities across internal teams and subcontractors
  • Oversee project schedules, budgets, documentation, and change management
  • Ensure systems meet industry standards and quality guidelines, including NEC, NFPA, ANSI/ASHRAE, and applicable ISO requirements
  • Lead control system commissioning and retro-commissioning efforts to ensure optimal system performance
  • Support 3rd-party system integration, including networking, APIs, custom drivers, and enterprise software platforms
  • Collaborate with engineering teams on system design, value engineering, and constructability reviews
  • Ensure adherence to safety policies, quality assurance processes, and customer specifications
  • Support service handoff, training, and long-term customer satisfaction initiatives

 

Required Qualifications

  • Experience managing building automation or control system projects
  • Strong knowledge of BAS installation, commissioning, and system integration
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
  • Proven customer-facing skills with a strong service-oriented mindset
  • Working knowledge of industry codes and standards such as NEC, NFPA, and ASHRAE
  • Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with fault detection, analytics, or energy management solutions
  • Background supporting 24/7 service environments or mission-critical facilities
  • Familiarity with network design, system monitoring, and automated logging
  • Experience managing both new construction and complex retrofit projects
  • Prior leadership of in-house BAS technicians and electricians
