Title: BAS Project Manager

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced BAS (Building Automation Systems) Project Manager to lead the successful execution of building automation, controls integration, preventative maintenance, and system upgrade projects throughout the Tampa Bay area. This role is responsible for managing all phases of BAS projects, from initial design coordination and installation through commissioning, client training, and ongoing support.
The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise in building automation systems with outstanding project management skills to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This individual will serve as a trusted advisor to clients, helping them maximize system performance, reliability, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Required

Manage multiple BAS projects simultaneously, ranging from system upgrades to large-scale automation implementations.

Oversee project planning, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and resource allocation.

Coordinate with clients, contractors, engineers, vendors, and internal teams throughout the project lifecycle.

Lead project kickoff meetings and maintain regular communication with stakeholders.

Ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and according to contract requirements.

Review project drawings, sequences of operation, specifications, and submittals.

Supervise installation, integration, testing, and commissioning activities.

Monitor project financial performance, including job costing, forecasting, and change order management.

Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.

Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and safety standards.

Support preventative maintenance programs and long-term service agreements.

Conduct project closeout activities, including documentation, training, and client handoff.

Develop strong customer relationships that encourage repeat business and service contract growth.

Qualifications
Required
-
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field; equivalent industry experience may be considered.

Minimum 5 years of project management experience in Building Automation Systems (BAS), Building Management Systems (BMS), HVAC controls, or industrial automation.

Strong working knowledge of HVAC systems, controls, networking, and system integration.

Proficiency with project scheduling and project management software.

Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and controls drawings.

Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel throughout the Tampa Bay region.
Preferred

PMP (Project Management Professional) certification.

Niagara N4 certification or experience.

Experience with systems such as Johnson Controls Metasys, Tridium Niagara, Siemens Desigo, Schneider Electric EcoStruxure, Distech, Alerton, Honeywell, or Automated Logic.

Experience with healthcare, education, hospitality, commercial office, or mission-critical facilities.

Knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, and IP-based communication networks.
