Overview
We are seeking a self-motivated, relationship-driven Sales Engineer to own and grow our HVAC controls and building automation business across the Miami market. This is a high-impact, autonomous role for a professional who thrives on opening doors, building long-term client relationships, and driving both service and construction revenue.

This position is a one-person sales function, offering full ownership of the territory, access to an existing customer base, and the opportunity to earn 100% of available commissions on the work you bring in. Key Responsibilities
Required
  • Drive new business through proactive relationship building, door opening, and account development
  • Sell HVAC controls and building automation solutions across:
    • Service work
    • New construction projects
    • Owner-direct opportunities
  • Manage and grow an existing book of customers, including mechanical contractors and end users
  • Identify untapped bid opportunities and follow up on work leadership does not currently have bandwidth to pursue
  • Convert completed construction projects into recurring service relationships
  • Collaborate closely with the Service Manager to funnel and support incoming work
  • Own the full sales cycle from prospecting through close
Preferred
  • Assist in shaping longer-term account strategies that may later support management or leadership growth
  • Participate in market expansion efforts as the company scales
Performance Expectations & Growth Metrics
Required
  • First-year sales production target: approximately $1M in booked revenue
  • Long-term sales production target: approximately $2M annually once fully ramped
Preferred
  • Prior history of $2M–$4M annual sales production in a similar role
Required Qualifications
  • HVAC controls or building automation background
  • Proven sales experience within HVAC, BAS, or related technical construction markets
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
  • Strong business development mindset with comfort opening doors and initiating conversations
  • Deep understanding of how service and construction sales intersect
  • Willingness to learn and navigate the unique Miami / South Florida market
Preferred Qualifications
  • Existing relationships in the Miami or South Florida mechanical or owner-direct market
  • Spanish language skills (not required, but a strong advantage for relationship building)
  • Experience selling both owner-direct and bid-based construction work
  • Prior exposure to account management or territory ownership
