Overview
A growing provider of building automation and integrated systems solutions is seeking a driven Building Automation Service Sales Representative to support continued expansion within the controls and smart building systems market. This role focuses on developing new business opportunities, growing existing customer relationships, and driving revenue through the sale of building automation solutions, controls upgrades, service agreements, and retrofit projects.
This position works directly with building owners, contractors, engineers, and facility teams to identify operational challenges and deliver practical, value-driven solutions that improve building performance, security, reliability, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
Account Management & Growth
- Manage and grow a portfolio of existing commercial customers
- Build and maintain strong relationships with facility managers, contractors, engineers, and key decision-makers
- Identify opportunities for system upgrades, service agreements, retrofits, and integrations
- Support long-term customer retention through proactive engagement and responsiveness
New Business Development
- Prospect and develop new opportunities within the assigned territory
- Generate leads through networking, industry engagement, and outbound outreach
- Identify and pursue new construction, retrofit, and service opportunities related to automation systems
- Develop partnerships with contractors, end users, and industry stakeholders
Revenue Ownership
- Meet or exceed territory sales targets and growth goals
- Maintain a balanced pipeline across service agreements, retrofits, upgrades, and projects
- Provide accurate forecasting and maintain visibility into sales activity
- Drive recurring revenue through service agreements and system lifecycle upgrades
Sales Execution & Customer Engagement
- Conduct site visits to evaluate systems and identify customer needs
- Develop proposals, scopes of work, and tailored solution recommendations
- Present technical solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Apply working knowledge of building automation, controls, or low-voltage systems
- Collaborate with internal engineering and operations teams for pricing and execution
Collaboration
- Partner with operations, service, and project teams to ensure successful delivery
- Serve as the primary point of contact throughout the sales process
- Support customer satisfaction and long-term partnerships
- Stay informed on market trends and emerging technologies
Qualifications
Required:
- 3+ years of experience in building automation, HVAC controls, mechanical systems, or technical sales
- Proven ability to generate new business and develop customer relationships
- Strong communication and consultative selling skills
- Ability to effectively explain technical concepts to diverse audiences
- Self-motivated and results-driven with strong organizational skills
Preferred:
- Experience with BAS/DDC systems and integrated building technologies
- Background in controls, low-voltage systems, or building systems integration
- Established network within the commercial construction or facilities market
