Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Building Automation Systems (BAS) Technician to support the installation, programming, maintenance, and optimization of building control systems. This role plays a critical part in ensuring energy efficiency, occupant comfort, and reliable system performance across commercial facilities. Key Responsibilities
- Install, commission, and service BAS/DDC control systems in commercial buildings
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to HVAC controls, sensors, and networked systems
- Perform routine maintenance and preventative service to ensure optimal system performance
- Read and interpret blueprints, control schematics, and technical drawings
- Configure and program controllers using industry-standard platforms (e.g., BACnet, Modbus)
- Communicate effectively with customers, project managers, and internal teams regarding system status
- Document service activities, changes, and system updates accurately
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and project specifications
Key Responsibilities (Preferred)
- Assist with system design improvements and energy optimization strategies
- Support customer training on system operation and best practices
- Contribute to project planning and execution timelines
- Participate in ongoing technical training and certifications
Qualifications
- Experience working with BAS, DDC controls, or HVAC control systems
- Working knowledge of BACnet or similar communication protocols
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical plans
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally to job sites
- Solid computer skills, including familiarity with control software and basic networking
Qualifications (Preferred)
- Associate degree or technical certification in HVAC, electrical systems, or related field
- Experience with energy management systems and building optimization
- Familiarity with multiple BAS platforms (e.g., Tridium Niagara, Johnson Controls, Siemens, etc.)
- Understanding of IP networking and system integration
- OSHA certification or safety training credentials
