About the Role

A growing building automation and controls organization is seeking a Building Automation Account Manager to support and expand its presence across the Tampa Bay market. This role is ideal for a relationship-driven professional who understands how connected buildings operate and can translate complex automation solutions into clear business value for customers.

As buildings become more intelligent and interconnected, customers expect more from their Building Automation Systems.

The Account Manager serves as the primary liaison between clients, engineers, and technical teams—ensuring automation solutions are thoughtfully designed, properly positioned, and aligned with long-term energy, comfort, and sustainability goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage long-term relationships with building owners, facility managers, engineers, and contractors
  • Identify new business opportunities for building automation, HVAC controls, lighting integration, and security systems
  • Lead the sales process from initial discovery through proposal, negotiation, and contract close
  • Collaborate with engineering and technical teams to design tailored automation solutions based on customer needs
  • Present solutions that integrate HVAC, lighting, security, and analytics into a single open platform
  • Promote energy optimization strategies including monitoring, analytics, and performance-based solutions
  • Maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities across new construction, retrofits, and modernization projects
  • Coordinate project handoff to operations teams and remain engaged through project execution
  • Track account activity, forecasts, and performance metrics using CRM tools
  • Represent the company at industry events, customer meetings, and local networking functions

Required Qualifications

  • 3 or more years of experience in building automation, HVAC controls, or technical B2B sales
  • Demonstrated success managing accounts and closing complex solution-based sales
  • Strong understanding of building systems including HVAC, BAS platforms, and energy management concepts
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Proven relationship-building and consultative selling skills
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout the Tampa Bay area

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience selling integrated automation solutions including HVAC, lighting, and security systems
  • Familiarity with open-protocol BAS platforms such as Niagara-based systems or similar technologies
  • Experience supporting commercial real estate, healthcare, education, data centers, or government facilities
  • Knowledge of energy analytics, monitoring, and optimization solutions
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a related field
