Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and driven Building Automation System (BAS) Project Manager to lead and manage BAS construction and retrofit projects. This individual will play a key role in the continued growth of our controls department and will be responsible for full-cycle project management, from estimation and sales through execution and closeout.
The ideal candidate will have deep experience in BAS technologies, strong leadership and organizational skills, and a hands-on understanding of HVAC, energy systems, and controls integration.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage BAS project teams to meet scope, schedule, and budget objectives
- Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of multiple BAS projects simultaneously
- Proactively identify and escalate project issues or delays
- Estimate labor, equipment, and material costs for new BAS construction projects and change orders
- Coordinate with procurement and internal departments to ensure timely delivery of materials and resources
- Assist in sales efforts by participating in client meetings, developing proposals, and identifying opportunities for new work
- Maintain effective communication with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
- Facilitate and participate in project meetings, job walks, and site inspections
- Ensure all project documentation, schedules, submittals, and close-out procedures are completed accurately and on time
- Support and participate in industry events or organizations to stay current with BAS trends and technologies
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in Building Automation Systems (BAS)
- Experience with one or more of the following platforms: Automated Logic Controls, Tridium Niagara, and Distech Controls
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, controls integration, and energy management practices
- Proven leadership and team coordination abilities
- Excellent time management and multitasking skills
- Familiarity with electrical and mechanical system installation standards and codes
- Experience in estimating, budgeting, and financial tracking of BAS projects
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and control drawings
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
