Job Summary
The Building Automation Technician is responsible for installing, programming, troubleshooting, and repairing building automation and energy management systems across the Atlanta, GA area. This role plays a key part in ensuring high performing facility environments for our commercial and industrial customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Integration and programming of building control systems and associated devices.
  • Maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of low-voltage wiring, devices, and control equipment.
  • Installation of automation devices, cabling, sensors, and related components; troubleshooting low-voltage circuitry.
  • Required: Establish and maintain strong, positive relationships with customers; promptly address and resolve concerns to support long-term partnerships.
  • Travel within Georgia and occasionally within North and South Carolina (minimal overnight travel).
  • Perform physical tasks including ladder work, outdoor/seasonal conditions, and extended standing.
  • Maintain effective internal communication and collaboration with company team members.
  • Communicate job arrival, departure, and return times clearly to customers.
  • Respond quickly to internal and external customer service needs.
  • Provide qualified sales leads when identified.
  • Plan, schedule, and communicate daily work to manage time efficiently and maximize productivity.
  • Prepare accurate documentation and reporting according to company procedures.
  • Follow all company policies, including Employee Handbook, Safety Policy, and Safety Procedures.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Relevant experience in commercial or industrial HVAC controls.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC control systems and the ability to read mechanical plans and DDC related specifications.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in team environments.
  • Strong attention to detail, craftsmanship, and problem solving skills.
  • Valid Driver’s License.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of BACnet systems.
  • Experience with Distech Controls and/or Carrier Controls.
  • Tridium AX or N4 Certification.
