Position Summary
The Business Development Representative plays a critical role in driving our continued growth. This position is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, nurturing relationships with prospective and existing customers, and supporting the sales pipeline for commercial HVAC, building automation, and energy services.

This role is ideal for a motivated, relationship-driven professional who thrives in a consultative sales environment and wants to build a long-term career with a growing, values-driven organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify, research, and qualify new commercial business opportunities within assigned territory
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with property managers, facility managers, general contractors, developers, and building owners
  • Conduct outbound outreach through calls, emails, networking events, and industry functions
  • Collaborate closely with sales engineers, project managers, and operations teams to develop customer-focused solutions
  • Schedule and coordinate introductory meetings and site visits for senior sales team members
  • Maintain accurate and detailed activity records within CRM systems
  • Track market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities
  • Support proposal development and follow-up to ensure a seamless customer experience
  • Represent Haynes Mechanical Systems professionally and consistently with our values

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in business development, sales, or account management
  • Proven ability to prospect, build relationships, and generate qualified leads
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally within the territory
  • High level of professionalism, organization, and follow-through

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in commercial HVAC, mechanical contracting, building automation, or energy services
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms such as Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar systems
  • Experience selling into commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, or institutional markets
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field
  • Existing network within the Northeast Ohio commercial construction or facilities market
