About the Role
The HVAC Account Manager is responsible for managing and growing an assigned book of existing commercial accounts while also identifying new business opportunities. You will inherit an established portfolio of customers—providing immediate relationship continuity and revenue responsibility—while also helping expand service agreements, retrofit projects, and long-term mechanical solutions.
This role blends strong customer-facing communication with technical understanding of commercial HVAC systems. You will serve as the primary point of contact for your accounts and collaborate closely with service technicians, estimators, and operational leaders to ensure exceptional client satisfaction and revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage an assigned book of existing commercial HVAC accounts and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Conduct onsite assessments to evaluate system performance and recommend maintenance programs, upgrades, and energy-efficiency solutions.
- Build and strengthen relationships with facility managers, building owners, property managers, and general contractors.
- Prepare, present, and negotiate proposals for maintenance agreements, service work, and retrofit solutions.
- Collaborate with service operations teams to ensure timely service delivery and issue resolution.
- Track pipeline activity, forecast revenue, and consistently meet or exceed assigned sales targets.
- Renew contracts and manage pricing strategies to support account profitability.
- Maintain accurate CRM records and documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Experience managing customer relationships or service-based accounts.
- Working technical knowledge of commercial HVAC systems (chillers, RTUs, boilers, controls, etc.).
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the assigned territory.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret technical information and convert it into customer-facing recommendations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in commercial HVAC maintenance sales or similar technical sales.
- Experience managing a book of service contract accounts.
- Familiarity with CRM platforms
- Experience in estimating, equipment supply, or mechanical project coordination.
- Exposure to energy efficiency, renewable energy, or building performance solutions.
- Technical education, trade certifications, or relevant engineering coursework.
