Job Title: HVAC Project Manager

Position Overview
The HVAC Project Manager is responsible for leading commercial HVAC and mechanical construction projects from pre-construction through final closeout. This role ensures projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with deep HVAC expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams in a fast-paced construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple HVAC and mechanical construction projects simultaneously, ranging from mid-size to large-scale commercial projects
- Plan, schedule, and execute projects while maintaining control of scope, budget, and profitability
- Coordinate with engineering, fabrication, field supervision, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure efficient project delivery
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, and general contractors throughout the project lifecycle
- Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Lead project kickoff meetings, weekly progress meetings, and closeout meetings
- Track job costs, labor productivity, material procurement, and project forecasting
- Manage change orders, RFIs, submittals, and project documentation
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality expectations, and applicable codes
- Oversee commissioning activities, punch list completion, and final project closeout
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience managing HVAC or mechanical construction projects
- Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, ductwork, piping, and mechanical construction methods
- Demonstrated experience managing project budgets, schedules, and cost controls
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Proficiency with construction management software and Microsoft Office tools
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to active job sites
Preferred Qualifications
- 8 or more years of HVAC or mechanical project management experience
- Experience with design-build and negotiated construction projects
- Familiarity with building automation systems and energy related projects
- OSHA 30 certification
- Experience working in healthcare, industrial, or large commercial environments
