Position Overview
As a Mechanical Project Manager / Estimator, you will serve as the primary client-facing representative responsible for estimating, selling, and managing commercial HVAC and piping projects. You will oversee projects from initial bid through completion, ensuring financial performance, customer satisfaction, and successful project delivery.This role is ideal for a results-driven professional who excels in both estimating and project execution within a fast-paced construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify project risks and evaluate general conditions to ensure successful execution
- Prepare accurate project estimates based on drawings, specifications, and scope requirements
- Develop and clearly communicate trade-specific scopes of work to internal teams and subcontractors
- Review and approve project-related documentation throughout the project lifecycle
- Identify, qualify, and manage subcontractor participation
- Enter and maintain project data within recap and tracking systems
- Participate in post-project reviews to identify lessons learned and process improvements
- Collaborate cross-functionally as a resource to support sales, operations, and project teams
- Maintain strong client relationships and act as the primary point of contact throughout project delivery
Position Requirements
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Manager and/or Estimator in commercial HVAC or piping
- Strong negotiating skills with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients
- Experience managing project budgets and financial performance
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on customer service and relationship management
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to pass a background check
Preferred:
- Prior experience in commercial or industrial mechanical construction environments
- Familiarity with estimating software and construction project management tools
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, piping, and building systems integration
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional project teams
- Industry knowledge across mechanical, automation, or building systems sectors
