This mechanical contracting group has decades of industry experience and delivers full turnkey mechanical systems including piping, sheet metal, HVAC, and controls. The Nashville division is one of the company’s fastest-growing groups, currently operating with roughly 5–6 team members including project managers, engineering support, and a superintendent.
Position Overview
The Project Manager will oversee all phases of mechanical scopes on mid? to large?scale commercial and high?rise residential projects, typically ranging from $5M to $30M in mechanical value. The role requires strong coordination skills, the ability to support field operations effectively, and experience working in mechanical contracting environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage turnkey mechanical construction projects including piping, HVAC, sheet metal (self?performed and subcontracted), and associated scopes.
- Oversee budgets, cost forecasting, labor coordination, materials, and procurement.
- Ensure field teams have all drawings, answers, materials, and resources required to avoid downtime.
- Coordinate with engineering, BIM, superintendents, and subcontractors.
- Maintain project schedules and ensure adherence to code, specifications, contract terms, and safety requirements.
- Collaborate with general contractors, vendors, field labor, and internal support members.
- Support a collaborative, results?driven culture.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of project management experience with a mechanical contractor.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, construction sequencing, and large?project coordination.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and complex technical information.
- Proven budget, schedule, and subcontractor management experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with high?rise residential or large commercial buildings.
- Local market experience or willingness to relocate for strategic reasons.
- Background in mechanical engineering, construction management, or a related field.
