Job Title: HVAC Sales Engineer

Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated HVAC Sales Engineer to drive growth across commercial and industrial markets in the Greater Boston area. This role combines technical HVAC expertise with consultative sales, supporting clients with mechanical system solutions including boiler rooms, piping systems, pumps, and full design/build installations. The ideal candidate will act as a trusted advisor, guiding customers from initial assessment through project delivery while ensuring efficiency, compliance, and long-term system performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within commercial and industrial sectors
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with facility managers, engineers, general contractors, and property owners
- Perform site visits to evaluate existing mechanical systems and identify upgrade or replacement opportunities
- Prepare and present detailed proposals, including system design recommendations, equipment selection, and pricing
- Collaborate with internal engineering and operations teams to develop accurate project scopes and deliverables
- Support bid/spec and public bid opportunities, including bonded projects where applicable
- Promote services including boiler installations, piping systems, pump solutions, and equipment startups
- Manage pipeline activity, track opportunities, and meet or exceed defined sales targets
- Stay current on HVAC technologies, local codes, and industry best practices
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Engineering, or related field
- 3–5+ years of experience in HVAC sales, application engineering, or mechanical contracting
- Strong working knowledge of commercial/industrial HVAC systems including boilers, pumps, and piping
- Proven ability to meet or exceed sales quotas
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and bid documents
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the Greater Boston area
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in design/build mechanical contracting environments
- Familiarity with public bid processes and bonded construction projects
- Knowledge of factory-authorized startup and commissioning processes
- Established network within the Greater Boston commercial or industrial market
- Experience with CRM platforms and estimating software
