Position Summary
A regional building systems solutions provider is seeking an experienced HVAC Sales Manager to lead, manage, and grow its sales operations. The organization specializes in the design and installation of HVAC, plumbing, and controls systems and delivers construction, service, and integrated controls solutions to commercial, industrial, and institutional clients.

The HVAC Sales Manager will bring deep technical knowledge of HVAC systems combined with strong leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills. This role is responsible for developing and executing sales strategies, managing a team of sales representatives, and building long-term client relationships. The position plays a critical role in driving revenue growth, expanding market share, and achieving sales targets while maintaining a high standard of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy and Business Development
• Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies aligned with company goals, with a focus on commercial and industrial markets.
• Identify new business opportunities, verticals, and regional markets to drive sustained revenue growth.
• Track and manage maintenance and service project sales agreements to ensure performance goals are met, adjusting strategy as needed.
• Monitor market conditions, competitor activity, and industry trends to uncover new opportunities and maintain competitive positioning.

Sales Team Leadership and Training
• Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of sales representatives to achieve individual and team sales objectives.
• Deliver ongoing training and professional development on HVAC systems, service offerings, and industry best practices.
• Conduct weekly sales meetings to review pipelines, measure progress against goals, and reinforce sales strategy.
• Support new sales representatives through role-playing, field coaching, and client ride-alongs to accelerate development.

Client Relationship Management
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with building owners, contractors, facility managers, and key decision-makers.
• Conduct regular client follow-ups to ensure satisfaction and proactively address sales or service-related concerns.
• Lead client meetings, presentations, and proposal discussions, clearly communicating HVAC solutions and value propositions.
• Negotiate pricing, scope, and contract terms to close sales and secure long-term service agreements.
• Maintain key accounts through site visits and professional client engagement as needed.

Sales Performance and Reporting
• Monitor sales performance and ensure quarterly and annual revenue and gross profit targets are achieved.
• Prepare and present sales forecasts, performance reports, and corrective action plans to senior leadership.
• Carry and achieve a personal sales goal that contributes to overall company profitability.

Collaboration with Internal Teams
• Partner closely with service leadership, project teams, and operations to ensure sales strategies translate into successful execution.
• Provide customer and market feedback to internal teams to improve HVAC offerings and service delivery.
• Ensure all proposals are thoroughly reviewed prior to client presentation, with margins aligned to financial targets.
Additional Responsibilities
• Participate in service leadership meetings to align on strategic initiatives and performance goals.
• Ensure proposals exceeding established financial thresholds receive appropriate leadership approval.
• Take ownership of achieving the company-wide maintenance and service agreement sales objectives.

Qualifications
Required
• 7–10 years of sales experience in the HVAC industry.
• At least 4 years of experience in a sales leadership or management role.
• Proven ability to lead sales teams, drive revenue growth, and consistently meet or exceed sales targets.
• Strong technical understanding of HVAC systems, controls, equipment, and industry trends.
• Ability to clearly explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Excellent negotiation, presentation, and verbal/written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency with CRM platforms and Microsoft Office tools.
• Ability to travel up to 50 percent of the time.

Preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience selling service agreements, retrofits, and integrated controls solutions.
• Background working with commercial, industrial, and institutional clients.
