Position Overview
A leading commercial HVAC and equipment dealer is seeking a driven and technically capable HVAC Sales Representative to support and grow a regional territory. This role focuses on consultative, solution-based selling of engineered HVAC, hydronics, and air-handling systems to building owners, consulting engineers, architects, and mechanical contractors.

The position is ideal for a sales professional who excels in relationship-driven environments, understands complex mechanical systems, and thrives in long-cycle, high-value sales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow a defined sales territory with an annual revenue target of $3M–$6M within 24 months
  • Develop long-term relationships with consulting engineers, mechanical contractors, facility owners, and developers
  • Provide application-based equipment recommendations for commercial HVAC, hydronics, and cleanroom environments
  • Collaborate with internal engineering, service, and parts teams to deliver complete lifecycle solutions
  • Lead equipment selection, pricing strategy, and proposal development for new construction and retrofit projects
  • Maintain accurate opportunity tracking, forecasting, and customer records using CRM tools
  • Support project handoff to engineering and service teams to ensure successful execution and customer satisfaction
  • Represent the organization at jobsite meetings, industry events, and customer presentations

 

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in commercial HVAC sales, engineering, or technical equipment distribution
  • Proven ability to sell engineered, application-specific solutions rather than commodity products
  • Working knowledge of air-handling systems, hydronics, and commercial HVAC applications
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical plans, schedules, and specifications
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the assigned territory
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field
  • Experience selling cleanroom, laboratory, healthcare, or mission-critical HVAC systems
  • Established relationships with consulting engineers or mechanical contractors in the Upper Midwest
  • Experience working within a manufacturers’ representative or dealer-based sales environment
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms and sales forecasting tools
