Job Title: HVAC Area Service Manager

A well-established commercial and industrial HVAC project and service provider with over 50 years of experience serves clients with comprehensive heating, air conditioning, and ventilation solutions designed to support facilities and the people within them.
Summary:
The Area Service Manager grows their assigned service area through the sale of spot work, projects, and maintenance contracts. This role is responsible for meeting area revenue and gross profit goals while ensuring work is completed on time, within budget, to the customer’s satisfaction, and accurately tracked in accordance with company guidelines. The Area Service Manager works closely with direct leadership to develop the skills necessary to grow into responsibility for a larger service area.
Responsibilities:
• Actively assists in achieving the annual booking quota while simultaneously meeting personal booking objectives at planned pricing levels.
• Renews all maintenance contracts within the assigned service area at target escalation and pricing levels to meet company margin goals.
• Analyzes mechanical systems to develop repair, replacement, upgrade, or retrofit recommendations and presents findings and estimates to customers with the goal of closing sales.
• Partners with the service coordinator to plan daily manpower requirements.
• Purchases and expedites materials, equipment, and parts in a timely and cost-effective manner.
• Maintains accuracy of all business records, reports, logs, and data; submits regular reports to management on booking and selling activity within required time frames.
• Ensures all work is billed promptly upon completion or in accordance with contract terms.
• Monitors customer invoice payments and follows up on receivables more than 60 days past due.
• Supervises staff to ensure jobs are completed on time, within budget, and accepted by the customer.
• Assists with development and execution of the company’s annual operating plan.
• Acts as a team player by supporting other departments including dispatching, business systems, and accounting as needed.
• Position may require up to 40% travel, primarily to local job sites.
Qualifications:
• 2–4+ years of related experience.
• Advanced knowledge of the HVAC and controls industry.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to multitask in a fast paced environment.
• Intermediate computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain customer relationships.
• College degree or advanced education preferred.
• Previous mentoring, supervisory, or management experience is a plus.
