Target Salary Range: $75,000 – $135,000 annually (Depending on Qualifications)

Position Overview
As a Senior BAS Project Engineer, you will play a critical role in delivering building automation projects from concept through commissioning. You will collaborate with cross-functional project teams to design, program, and implement advanced control systems while ensuring optimal system performance and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in project planning, including scoping, scheduling, and risk identification
  • Collaborate with project teams to proactively resolve technical and operational challenges
  • Evaluate scope changes, change orders, and evolving client needs
  • Coordinate with multiple trades during installation and commissioning phases
  • Perform system startups, commissioning, and performance validation
  • Specify equipment and materials to meet system performance requirements
  • Diagnose and resolve control system issues, ensuring occupant comfort and system efficiency
  • Troubleshoot controllers, communication networks, programming logic, and scheduling issues
  • Ensure measurement and verification (M&V) systems are accurate and properly maintained
  • Provide technical guidance and support to internal teams and clients

 

Position Requirements

  • Minimum 2+ years of technical or field experience in controls, automation, or related fields
  • 2+ years of experience with HVAC systems and IT/networking concepts
  • 2+ years of commissioning and testing building automation systems
  • 2+ years of programming or modifying sequence of operations for control systems
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under pressure
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 tools
  • Strong written, verbal, and customer-facing communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • High level of organization and attention to detail
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and trades
  • Bachelor’s degree, associate degree, or equivalent hands-on experience
  • Ability to pass a background check

 

Preferred:

  • Experience with Schneider Electric EcoStruxure or Niagara 4 platforms
  • Familiarity with building automation system integration and advanced controls strategies
  • Strong understanding of project planning, scheduling, and logistics
  • Experience working in commercial or industrial building environments
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor or provide technical leadership
