Job Title: Senior Building Automation Systems (BAS) Technician
Location: Greater Dallas-Fort Worth Area

Base Salary: $35-$55/hour (based on experience)

This Senior BAS Technician will play a critical role in installing, programming, commissioning, and maintaining integrated building automation systems that control HVAC, lighting, energy usage, and security systems. Key Responsibilities
- Install, program, and commission BAS platforms including HVAC controls, lighting systems, and energy management solutions
- Troubleshoot and diagnose system issues across controllers, sensors, actuators, and network infrastructure
- Perform system upgrades, retrofits, and expansions in existing commercial environments
- Interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and sequences of operation
- Configure and integrate open and proprietary protocols (BACnet, Modbus, etc.)
- Provide on-site and remote technical support to clients
- Execute preventative maintenance and system performance audits
- Document system changes, service activities, and operational data
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and clients to ensure successful delivery
Additional Responsibilities (preferred)
- Lead installations or mentor junior BAS technicians
- Assist with system design and estimating support
- Support energy optimization strategies and reporting initiatives
- Train end-users on BAS interfaces and system capabilities
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) or Building Management Systems (BMS)
- Experience with major BAS platforms (e.g., Johnson Controls, Siemens, Trane, Honeywell, Schneider Electric, or similar)
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, control systems, and low-voltage electrical work
- Working knowledge of networking fundamentals (IP addressing, routers, switches)
- Ability to read and interpret control drawings and technical schematics
- Valid driver’s license with ability to travel locally throughout the Dallas area
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
Qualifications (preferred)
- Direct experience with Niagara Framework (Tridium) or Distech Controls platforms
- Example: Programming Niagara-based JACE controllers or working within Distech EC-Net environments
- Technical degree or certification in HVAC, Electrical Systems, or Automation
- Experience developing graphics, dashboards, or user interfaces
- Familiarity with analytics platforms and building performance tools
- OSHA certification or formal safety training
