Position Overview

As a Service Applications Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting and enhancing our clients’ building automation systems. From remote support and technical troubleshooting to interface design and control system programming, you’ll be hands-on with multiple facets of BAS technology. You’ll develop control design packages, I/O listings, system sequences, and customized programming to ensure peak performance and user-friendly operation for each project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide remote and onsite technical support for existing BAS customers.

  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues related to BAS hardware, software, and network configurations.

  • Design, program, and test building automation system additions and modifications.

  • Develop graphical user interfaces and custom dashboards for intuitive client interaction.

  • Create detailed controls design documents using CAD software and Visio.

  • Produce system input/output lists, product selection specs, and operational sequences.

  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field technicians to ensure successful system deployment.

  • Maintain clear documentation and system records for each project and service event.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • High school diploma required; technical degree or coursework in Electrical, Mechanical, or Building Automation Engineering strongly preferred.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Visio, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • Experience with at least one BAS or scientific programming language (e.g., Niagara, Tridium, BACnet, Modbus, or similar).

  • Familiarity with Microsoft operating systems, databases, and network protocols.

  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities in a technical environment.

  • Clear, effective communicator with excellent customer service skills.

  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

  • Comfort using laptops, tablets, smartphones, and mobile diagnostics tools.

  • Ability to adapt to fast-changing project priorities and schedules.
