Job Title: Building Automation Sales Representative

Position Summary
The Building Automation Sales Representative is responsible for driving sales of our building automation systems (BAS), energy management, lighting controls, integration services, and related solutions. This role involves prospecting new business, expanding relationships with existing clients, developing and presenting proposals, and collaborating with internal engineering and technical teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
You will serve as the front-line for growth in your assigned territory, working closely with facility managers, building owners, engineers, and C-level stakeholders to identify needs and craft solutions that improve performance, energy efficiency, and control.
Key Responsibilities

Identify, prospect, and develop new business opportunities in target verticals (commercial, education, healthcare, government, industrial, etc.)

Maintain and grow relationships with existing customers to drive repeat business, upgrades, and expansions

Understand clients’ facility requirements (HVAC, lighting, security, energy, controls) and position appropriate automation/integration solutions

Prepare and deliver technical and commercial proposals, quotations, and presentations

Work closely with engineering, project management, and technical teams to scope solutions, estimates, and project deliverables

Educate clients on the benefits of automation, energy savings, demand response, and integrated control systems

Track sales pipeline, forecast revenue, and meet or exceed quota targets

Stay informed about industry trends, technologies (e.g. BACnet, IoT, analytics), regulatory incentives, and competitive offerings

Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences

Travel within assigned territory (or beyond as needed) to meet clients, visit sites, and support projects
Required Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Energy Systems, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

3–7 years of sales experience, preferably in building automation, HVAC controls, energy solutions, or system integration

Strong technical competency — ability to understand control systems, HVAC, sensors, integration, communication protocols (e.g. BACnet, Modbus)

Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to speak with technical and executive audiences

Proven track record of meeting or exceeding quotas

Strong consultative selling skills, ability to diagnose customer pain points and propose tailored solutions

Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams (engineering, operations, service)

Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple opportunities concurrently
