Position Summary
As a Building Automation Design Engineer, you will be instrumental in designing, specifying, and implementing web-based energy management and building control systems. You’ll collaborate closely with client teams, project stakeholders, and internal departments—leveraging your expertise in control systems, BIM, and energy management to deliver efficient, sustainable building solutions.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the design, engineering, and specification of building automation systems (BAS), including IoT integration and analytics.

Create detailed control submittals, panel layouts, wiring schematics, and system configuration documentation.

Collaborate with design-build, BIM, HVAC, and piping teams to ensure seamless integration of automation systems.

Work with Distech Controls hardware/software—overseeing application engineering, design, configuration, and technical support.

Conduct commissioning, system testing, troubleshooting, and retrofitting throughout the BAS lifecycle.

Incorporate energy-efficiency best practices and green-building standards into control system design. Utilize LEED and GreenStar expertise.

Provide ongoing service support, performance analytics, and lifecycle maintenance strategies.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Controls Engineering, or a related field.

Demonstrated experience designing and commissioning BAS, ideally working with web-driven energy management platforms.

Familiarity with Distech Controls systems is strongly preferred.

Hands-on knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, control systems, and IoT integration techniques.

Proficiency in BIM, 3D CAD, and model-based design processes.

Strong analytical, communication, and project coordination skills.

Certifications—LEED Accredited Professional or GreenStar experience—a plus.
