Job Title: Lead Building Automation Technician/Programmer
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Building Automation Technician/Programmer to oversee and execute the installation, programming, and commissioning of Building Automation Systems (BAS) for commercial, industrial, and institutional facilities. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in HVAC controls, systems integration, and control programming.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and supervise the installation, startup, and commissioning of BAS/HVAC control systems.

Program controllers and user interfaces (including graphics, alarms, trends, and schedules) using manufacturer-specific software such as Tridium Niagara, Johnson Controls, Siemens, Honeywell, or others.

Develop and implement control strategies and sequences of operation based on project design documents.

Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

Perform system diagnostics, troubleshooting, and resolve technical issues in both new and existing installations.

Provide technical support and training to junior technicians and clients.

Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and specifications.

Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and safety regulations.

Maintain accurate documentation for programming, commissioning reports, and system configurations.

Support the integration of third-party systems using BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, or other communication protocols.
Qualifications:

Associate degree or certification in Electrical Engineering, HVAC Technology, Computer Science, or related field. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Minimum 5+ years of experience in building automation systems, including at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.

Proficiency in programming BAS platforms such as Tridium Niagara (AX/N4), Johnson Controls (Metasys), Honeywell, Siemens, or similar.

Strong understanding of HVAC systems, DDC controls, low-voltage wiring, and networking fundamentals.

Experience with system integration and protocols (BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks).

Excellent troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills.

Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as needed.
