Position Summary
We’re seeking a highly experienced and motivated Operations Manager to oversee field operations, technical service, and project execution for our building automation and controls division. This role is ideal for someone with strong experience in HVAC controls, BAS commissioning, controls integration, and service contract management. The Operations Manager will lead a team of technicians and coordinate cross-functional efforts to ensure the seamless delivery of BAS and energy efficiency projects.
Key Responsibilities

Lead Building Automation Operations: Manage daily operations for BAS projects including new construction, retrofits, upgrades, and DDC controls integration.

Oversee Service Delivery & Support: Direct all aspects of BAS service contracts, preventive maintenance, remote monitoring, and customer support.

Project Coordination: Collaborate with controls engineers, programmers, and field technicians to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Ensure Quality Control: Review system designs, conduct field inspections, verify sequence of operations, and lead functional performance testing.

Vendor & Subcontractor Oversight: Manage third-party partners for mechanical systems, lighting control, and energy efficiency upgrades.

Implement Energy Efficiency Strategies: Supervise the implementation of energy-saving programs including audits, metering, and utility rebate applications.

Team Leadership: Hire, train, and mentor a team of BAS technicians and service professionals to drive operational success.

Customer Relationship Management: Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through proactive communication, issue resolution, and post-project support.

Reporting & Performance Monitoring: Track operational KPIs including job costing, system uptime, technician efficiency, and energy savings metrics.
Required Qualifications

5+ years of operational leadership experience in building automation, HVAC controls, or BAS field services

Deep understanding of DDC control systems, open-protocol BAS platforms (e.g., Niagara, Tridium, Honeywell WEBs, Johnson FX), and network integration

Experience managing construction schedules, service contracts, and controls commissioning

Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, mechanical systems, and energy performance contracting

Excellent leadership, communication, and customer service skills

Ability to manage multiple teams, priorities, and deadlines

Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally and regionally
