Role Overview

As a Building Automation Project Sales Representative, you will spearhead sales and business development focused on building automation and smart-building solutions. Your goal is to generate and grow revenue by offering tailored, high-impact automation solutions that align with clients’ energy efficiency, sustainability, and operational goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead & Develop Business
    Prospect new clients and engage existing ones—such as institutions, public agencies, and commercial facilities—for building automation, controls, and integrated smart-building systems.

  • Solution Design & Scoping
    – Analyze design documents, site conditions, and client needs to craft customized automation proposals
    – Scope systems including HVAC integration, DDC control systems

  • Proposal & Financial Modeling
    Develop high-value proposals (e.g., ESPC, design-build, energy as a service, budget-neutral infrastructure upgrades) that align with our financial options and yield strong ROI .

  • Client Engagement
    Present automation and energy efficiency strategies, leveraging our integration of analytics and smart control systems to illustrate operational benefits and sustainability gains.

  • Cross-Functional Coordination
    Collaborate with engineering, operations, and project teams.

  • Pipeline & CRM Management
    Maintain robust sales pipeline with accurate forecasting, backlog, and quote tracking to meet or exceed booking goals.


Qualifications & Skills

  • Industry Experience: Proven sales experience in building automation, controls, HVAC, or smart-building systems.

  • Technical Acumen: Familiarity with building systems (HVAC, DDC, lighting, metering, storage, microgrids). Bonus: knowledge of analytics platforms, AI-driven control systems, digital twins.

  • Financial & Contractual Savvy: Understanding of ESPCs, energy-as-a-service models, and design-build delivery approaches.

  • Communication & Presentation: Ability to translate technical features into compelling business value—energy savings, resilience, sustainability.

  • Strategic Thinking: Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills to build trust and influence decision-makers.
