Role Overview
As a Building Automation Service Technician, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and servicing building automation hardware and controls systems—without programming duties. This hands-on role focuses on system reliability, preventative maintenance, and customer satisfaction within our service operations.
Key Responsibilities

Perform Maintenance & Repairs
Inspect, service, and repair building automation and HVAC-related equipment, including controllers, sensors, panel assemblies, actuators, dampers, and related mechanical components. -
Troubleshooting Equipment
Diagnose and resolve hardware and control system faults—escalating complex issues when necessary. -
Preventative Maintenance
Conduct routine preventive maintenance to ensure consistent operation and minimize service disruptions. -
Documentation & Reporting
Accurately document service activities, parts used, work orders, and service reports. -
Client Communication
Provide clear, professional on-site customer support—contextualizing system issues and upkeep steps without delving into programming specifics. -
Team Coordination
Collaborate with dispatchers, project managers, and technicians to help prioritize jobs, schedule maintenance visits, and support seamless transitions between service and project work.
Qualifications & Experience

High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification (HVAC, mechanical, electrical) a plus.

3–5 years of experience in building automation service, HVAC controls, mechanical maintenance, or a related technical field preferred.

Hands-on capability with building automation hardware (e.g., controllers, sensors, wiring, panel components); programming experience is not required.

Basic mechanical aptitude—familiarity with HVAC systems, wiring diagrams, and control schematics.

Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for on-site service calls.
