Job Description

We are seeking a Building Automation Technician to join the execution team for construction projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing equipment programs, front-end development, and thorough commissioning of DDC control/automation systems using Siemens file controllers and Tridium front ends.
  • Competent to help manage and implement Plan/Spec, Design/Build, and Service/Maintenance BAS systems.
  • Work closely with Project Managers and Account Managers to deliver engineered systems in line with their specifications and project expectations.
  • Maintain accurate and efficient project documents/installation documentation as work requires.
  • Work with Project Managers and Foreman Electricians to deliver systems as designed.
  • Work with Commissioning Authorities to test installed systems on projects that require 3rd party commissioning.
  • Provide customer training on control systems.
  • Attending project meetings as necessary.
  • Professionally manage internal and external relations.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • BS in Engineering or Computer Science field is desired, but not necessary.
  • In-depth knowledge of BAS hardware, software, IoT concept, electricity, mechanical systems, Control Networks, VFD’s and industrial control systems.
  • Proficiency in using laptop computers, MS Office suite, (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and Excel) is necessary.
  • Knowledge of various manufacturing software & hardware solutions used in BAS systems will strengthen the fit for this role.
  • Siemens programming in the Desigo line is a plus but not necessary. Training will be provided.
  • Must have programming experience and established success in this role.
  • Experience with common building automation protocols such as BACnet, IP networking. Modbus and LON are beneficial but not as heavily weighted.
  • Competency in this subject will reflect starting position in this role.
  • Logical, analytical, and the ability to articulate are beneficial personal qualities for the role.
  • Effective at working both independently and collaboratively in high-pressure environments.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills as well as exceptional customer communication skills are important for this role.
  • Ability to work within a team environment. It will be a requirement to be a team player, and work as a team. It will also be necessary to take a lead role in developing the BAS tech team.
  • Strong task and time management skills are required for this position.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid drivers license and acceptable driving record.
  • A background check will be necessary for consideration.
