Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Building Automation Systems (BAS) Specialist to design, commission, and build BAS databases and graphics for high-end commercial real estate projects. In this role, you will oversee system setup, provide technical leadership, and ensure successful project delivery while exceeding customer expectations. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on expertise with BAS software platforms, HVAC equipment, and low-voltage systems, as well as strong project management and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, program, and implement BAS systems to meet project requirements

  • Oversee installation of BAS components and verify end device functionality

  • Configure, test, and troubleshoot BAS networks (IP, RS-485, BACnet, LonWorks)

  • Perform Point-to-Point I/O verification and commissioning

  • Develop and deploy BAS graphics and databases (Niagara AX/N4, Distech GFX, Honeywell Spyder, Johnson Controls CCT/PCT)

  • Provide technical support and mentorship to BAS team members

  • Maintain project schedules and communicate status updates to supervisors and clients

  • Ensure high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards (PPE, clean workspace)

  • Accurately complete timecards, service reports, and documentation

  • Represent the company professionally with customers, contractors, and team members

  • Perform additional duties as needed

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of BAS or Systems Specialist experience

  • Associate degree in engineering, HVAC, or related field (or equivalent training/experience)

  • Proficiency in BAS communication protocols and software platforms:

  • Niagara AX & N4 Workbench

  • Distech GFX

  • Honeywell Spyder Tool

  • Johnson Controls CCT/PCT

  • Strong knowledge of BACnet and/or LonWorks systems

  • Advanced understanding of IP networks and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Expertise in troubleshooting low-voltage systems and HVAC equipment (boilers, chillers, packaged units, etc.)

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical plans, wiring diagrams, and schematics

  • Experience with low-voltage wiring installation; ability to identify wire types/colors

  • Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills

  • Valid driver’s license with 3+ years of driving history

  • Ability to pass a background check and drug test
