Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Building Automation Technician (Controls Service Technician) to join our team. In this role, you’ll perform BAS service, troubleshooting, commissioning, and preventive maintenance on commercial HVAC control systems. You’ll be the go-to expert for diagnosing and repairing automation issues, ensuring building systems operate efficiently and reliably.

Key Responsibilities

Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair of building automation systems (BAS) and HVAC controls.

Commission new building automation projects, including point-to-point checkout and sequence verification.

Maintain accurate documentation of service calls, BAS programming changes, and system updates.

Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure service work meets customer expectations.

Support preventive maintenance programs for HVAC automation and energy management systems.

Provide technical support to customers and serve as a trusted advisor for smart building technology.

Deliver timely daily reports and project updates to service managers.
Qualifications

Associate degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or HVAC Technology; military or equivalent experience also considered.

1–2 years of experience with building automation systems, HVAC controls, or facility service coordination preferred.

Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, blueprints, and control schematics.

Familiarity with open-protocol BAS platforms (BACnet, LonWorks, Modbus) is a plus.

Strong technical, organizational, and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
