Job Title: HVAC Controls Service Technician – Building Automation 

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled HVAC Controls Technician with expertise in building automation systems (BAS) to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and commissioning of advanced HVAC control systems. This role requires strong technical skills, a commitment to customer satisfaction, and the ability to modify BAS software, including Tridium, JCI, and Distech platforms.

You will work directly with customers on-site, ensuring optimal system performance, resolving technical issues, and recommending system enhancements or upgrades.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair electronic building automation control systems (BAS), including HVAC,  and integration systems.

  • Diagnose system malfunctions, perform software modifications, and test functionality in multiple programming languages.

  • Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure system reliability and efficiency.

  • Provide hands-on support to HVAC service mechanics on automation-related issues.

  • Maintain clear communication with customers from arrival to departure, ensuring transparency and satisfaction.

  • Recommend upgrades, enhancements, and add-on services to improve system performance.

  • Work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, and field technicians.

  • Maintain technical proficiency through self-study, training, and certifications.

  • Accurately complete service and project documentation, including commissioning reports and work orders.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience servicing and commissioning HVAC controls or BAS.

  • Vocational school training or an Associate’s Degree in HVAC, Electrical, or related field preferred.

  • Strong understanding of mechanical HVAC systems and how they integrate with BAS.

  • Proficiency in PC-based HVAC programming and software tools.

  • Hands-on experience with Tridium Niagara, JCI Metasys, and Distech Controls preferred.

  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong communication and customer service skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
