Job Title: HVAC Controls Service Technician – Building Automation
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled HVAC Controls Technician with expertise in building automation systems (BAS) to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and commissioning of advanced HVAC control systems. This role requires strong technical skills, a commitment to customer satisfaction, and the ability to modify BAS software, including Tridium, JCI, and Distech platforms.
You will work directly with customers on-site, ensuring optimal system performance, resolving technical issues, and recommending system enhancements or upgrades.
Key Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and repair electronic building automation control systems (BAS), including HVAC, and integration systems.

Diagnose system malfunctions, perform software modifications, and test functionality in multiple programming languages.

Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure system reliability and efficiency.

Provide hands-on support to HVAC service mechanics on automation-related issues.

Maintain clear communication with customers from arrival to departure, ensuring transparency and satisfaction.

Recommend upgrades, enhancements, and add-on services to improve system performance.

Work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, and field technicians.

Maintain technical proficiency through self-study, training, and certifications.

Accurately complete service and project documentation, including commissioning reports and work orders.
Qualifications

2+ years of experience servicing and commissioning HVAC controls or BAS.

Vocational school training or an Associate’s Degree in HVAC, Electrical, or related field preferred.

Strong understanding of mechanical HVAC systems and how they integrate with BAS.

Proficiency in PC-based HVAC programming and software tools.

Hands-on experience with Tridium Niagara, JCI Metasys, and Distech Controls preferred.
